Christmas markets in Prague 2025

When do the Christmas markets in Prague start?
The first Sunday of Advent in 2025 falls on 30 November. However, the main Prague Christmas markets on Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí) and Wenceslas Square (Václavské náměstí) start a day earlier, on Saturday, 29 November 2025. Some smaller Advent markets in Prague even open earlier, often around 20 November.
When do the Christmas markets in Prague end?
The largest Christmas markets on Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square traditionally end on 6 January 2026, on Epiphany. Smaller Advent markets, on the other hand, usually finish either on 24 December 2025 or at the end of 2025 (depending on the location).
Christmas markets on Old Town Square
The Christmas markets on Old Town Square are the biggest Advent markets in Prague. This year they run from 29 November 2025 to 6 January 2026, every day from 10:00 to 22:00. Stalls with Christmas goods will be open from 10:00 to 22:00, while food and drink stalls have extended opening hours until midnight.
During the Advent markets on Old Town Square, a rich programme will take place on the large stage, including concerts, theatre performances, and shows by children’s and folklore ensembles. For children, there will be demonstrations of traditional folk crafts, creative workshops, and special programmes for St. Nicholas Day and New Year’s Eve. You can also look forward to stalls with typical Christmas treats as well as stands offering Christmas goods and handmade products.
The ceremonial lighting of the Christmas tree on Old Town Square will take place on Saturday, 29 November 2025 from 4 p.m.

Christmas markets on Wenceslas Square
The Advent markets on Wenceslas Square, located in the lower part of the square, will run from 29 November 2025 until Epiphany, i.e. 6 January 2026, every day from 10:00 to 22:00.
Visitors can look forward to a stunning view of the festively lit Christmas tree, which will be illuminated on Saturday, 29 November 2025. You’ll find stalls with Christmas gifts and traditional folk crafts, as well as stands with typical Christmas refreshments such as roasted chestnuts, trdelník (chimney cake), Christmas cookies, mulled wine and punch.

Christmas markets on Náměstí Míru
The Christmas markets on Náměstí Míru run from 20 November 2025 until Christmas Eve, daily from 10:00 to 20:00. The Advent markets are located right in front of the Church of St. Ludmila, where they have an unforgettable atmosphere and a long tradition.
The markets offer a wide range of Christmas goods and artisanal folk crafts. There are also plenty of food stalls. In addition, you can enjoy Christmas workshops for children, theatre performances, and interesting concerts.

Christmas markets on Náměstí Republiky
The Advent markets on Náměstí Republiky are located in front of the Stará celnice (Old Customs House), right by the metro exit. This year, the Christmas markets run from 25 November to 24 December 2025, daily from 10:00 to 20:00. You’ll find a wide selection of Christmas goods, traditional festive dishes, and artisanal products.
You can also combine your Christmas shopping at the markets with visiting the nearby shopping centres Palladium and Kotva, both just a few steps from the square and the Advent markets.
TIP: From Náměstí Republiky, you can take a pleasant walk to the Christmas markets on Wenceslas Square or Old Town Square.

Christmas markets on Náměstí Jiřího z Poděbrad
The Christmas markets on Náměstí Jiřího z Poděbrad are traditionally located in front of the Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Our Lord. The markets will run from 29 November to 23 December 2025, daily from 8:00 to 18:00. Here you can expect fragrant mulled wine, delicious treats, local Christmas cookies, and a variety of artistic and handmade products. Don’t miss the cultural programme, including theatre performances, concerts and children’s workshops.

Christmas markets on Tylovo náměstí
The Advent markets on Tylovo náměstí take place from 26 November to 24 December 2025, daily from 10:00 to 19:00. Visitors can look forward to several stalls offering a varied Christmas assortment. You can enjoy traditional Old Bohemian trdelník, honey gingerbread, potato specialities, and unique wine delicacies. You’ll also find stalls with sand art pictures and small gift items for under the Christmas tree.

Malostranské Vánoce (Christmas on Kampa)
The Malostranské Vánoce Christmas market takes place on Kampa Square under Charles Bridge from 3 December to 4 January 2026, daily from 10:00 to 21:00. You can look forward to stalls with folk crafts and typical Christmas snacks. On Christmas Eve there is a traditional carol singing event under Charles Bridge.

New Town Advent at the New Town Hall takes place on Saturday, 14 December 2025 from 10:00 to 19:00. Advent markets at Kulaťák
The Advent markets at Kulaťák (Vítězné náměstí) run from 29 November 2025 to 20 December 2025, every Saturday from 8:00 to 14:00. Visitors can expect a colourful selection to delight all the senses: from traditional snacks, mulled wine and hot fruit juices, to excellent coffee and pastries, as well as fresh fruit and vegetables.
Advent at the National Agricultural Museum
Advent at the National Agricultural Museum takes place on 13 December 2025 from 10:00 to 17:00. You can look forward to a market, creative workshops, entertaining theatre performances for children, traditional carol singing, cookie decorating, and baking classes.
Vánoční Lemarket
Vánoční Lemarket runs on 13 and 14 December 2025 from 10:00 to 20:00.
The Lemarket Christmas fair will take you into a world of original gifts, where you can choose from more than 200 carefully selected local brands curated for this magical time of year. Look forward to a varied programme, great food and drinks, and even childcare, so that parents can enjoy their shopping as well.
Christmas exhibition of the Botanical Garden of the Faculty of Science, Charles University (Slup)
From 28 November 2025 to 31 December 2025, you can admire hundreds of traditional and new Christmas decorations inspired by folk traditions, as well as beautifully decorated Christmas trees. The exhibition also includes sales of Christmas trinkets and creative workshops every Saturday that will immerse you in the Christmas atmosphere. The exhibition is open daily from 10:00 to 16:00.
Other Christmas and Advent events in Prague 2025
Silver Christmas Days are a traditional event for the Advent season – a Christmas fair of gifts, decorations and other consumer goods. It serves as an annual guide to ideas for Christmas presents and festive treats for the holiday table. There is also an entertainment programme for all family members. This year, Silver Christmas Days take place from 4 December to 7 December 2025, daily from 10:00 to 16:00, at PVA Expo Prague, Beranových 667, Prague 9 – Letňany.
Christmas at the Exhibition Grounds – Pottery and Crafts Market is held on 6 and 7 December 2025 from 10:00 to 18:00. During this Christmas pottery and crafts market, visitors can choose from a wide range of gifts for the whole family. You’ll find more than 130 artisans from all over the Czech Republic. You can meet Czech glassmakers, blacksmiths, knife-makers, weavers and many other traditional and unusual crafts. The markets also include stalls with French cheeses, sausages, pâtés, Christmas cookies and mead, which is inseparably linked with winter and Christmas.
The Czech Christmas Mass by Jakub Ryba is an annual tradition. Performances take place at the Church of St. Salvator, in the Municipal House, and also at the Hybernia Theatre.
